Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)

I took this image in October 2005, in Sussex with my first digital Pentax. I am miffed about the piece of grass across the right side of the face, but love the clarity of the image. Why is it that with my new equipment and more expensive lens I still can't recreate the same sharpness?

Sydney Opera House from Quay West

Thank heavens for jet lag, else I would definitely not have been up at 4:30am to grab a taxi over to central Sydney to grab this shot from the opposite side of the water. What a magical morning.

My Beloved Cat "Inca" (Felis catus)

I got her from a small farm on the outskirts of Nutley, East Sussex when she was 8 weeks old and I named her after the South American Incas following a trip I took to Peru to climb Macchu Pichu. She turned 12 last week and is as active and mad as ever. She loves prawns and pigs liver, but prefers to catch her own lunch and bring it home to share. This is her poised to pounce on a lazer pen dot on the rug!

West European Hedgehoglet (Erinaceus europaeus)

Found this little hoglet in an old barbeque in a garden in Haywards Heath, all curled up into a tiny ball no bigger than the palm of my hand. So cute!

Capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris)

I took this wild capybara in the Pantanal region of Brazil in June 2007.
The capybara is the largest living rodent in the world, its closest to the Agouti and the name 'Capybara' means "master of the grasses" but its scientific name, hydrochaeris, is Greek for "water hog". They can reach weights of 100kg and look the size of a large dog, but they are completely harmless and some came right up to us to inspect our tripods during our stay in Brazil.
